The definitive live "Sympathy for the Devil"

This movie has the best ever live rendition of this song. Better than on the interrupted "Gimme Shelter" movie, better than Hyde Park and absolutely craps on Guns n Roses rendition. Perfection! The best!

I'm willing to bet that Mick's tattoos visible at the end of the song when he takes off his shirt, are of the stick on and wash off variety.

Yeah, the DVD commentary confirms this. Mick had the makeup lady on the crew do them.

Pfff. You've obviously never heard Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out. Far and away the best live version. Keith plays a funky little solo first, but Mick Taylor's solo is astounding. The piano and conga (that provided most of the rhythm in the studio version) are replaced by Richards and Taylor's weaving guitars.

The Circus version isn't too bad, and Mick really puts on a show, but it's clear the band hadn't had much practice playing the song live at that point.

Get Yer YA-Ya's Out also has a killer version of Midnight Rambler and Stray Cat Blues which are two songs I don't like, but this albums version actually changes my opinion of these two.

I thought this rendition was fantastic. I saw it on PBS last night and talked about it today.

That's Keith doing the solos on Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out. Mick plays rhythm the whole time through.

Sorry exptruth09, you're incorrect on that one. Taylor plays rhythm until about the 4:30 mark then Keith switches to rhythm and Taylor takes lead. Keith couldn't have played that solo in his wildest dreams.

My favourite part would be Mick Jagger topless. He was just so sexy back then. Plus, he showed off his sexy abs. I've got a navel fetish, you see...

The Beatles were right; all you need is love.

I thought Charlie hit the crash cymbal too much.
