Nasty teeth

I'm not sure if it was done intenionally, but every female character in this film had ugly yellow teeth. I couldn't help but notice. The worse are Julianne Moore's, she's so unnatractive.

I couldn't help but notice it either -- especially Julianne Moore's. I am watching it on indieplex right now-- with HDTV it's really bad.

Considering this was set in 1895 I would envisage it being a pretty accurate portrayal of dental hygiene at the time! Although I doubt it was done intentionally - more likely due to smoking.

Not that I noticed mind, I thought it was an excellent film with several outstanding performances. Julianne Moore unattractive?! Each to his own.

Surely these people had the money to get their dentist to bleach their teeth, no? ;-)

reply

erm, teeth are naturally a bit yellow. White teeth is not a typical thing.

I didn't notice it at all, have just skimmed back through the recording, still didn't notice it. Perfectly normal coloured teeth all round.

Odd thing to pick up on. Oh, and Julianne Moore looked great. If that matters.

reply

Natural teeth are of three different colours : the enamel is either white or greyish or yellowish.
Super white teeth are a "Hollywood" thing, unatural and quite ugly to me.

reply

Her teeth are always like this
