Trilogy?

Maybe I just imagined it, but I thought I'd read that Hal Hartley has considered doing another movie with these characters. I'm not sure how much anyone is dying to see another sequel after Fay Grim, which many consider to be a let down, but it left things in such a tenuous state that I would really like something with a little more closure.

Speaking of things I imagined, I actually had a dream not that long ago that I was watching a third movie in this series, this time centering on Ned. The way Fay Grim was different from Henry Fool with its espionage plot, this one had a supernatural theme. The stereopticon or whatever the thing was that Henry sent Fay in the last movie turned out to have magical properties. Weird stuff.

This post reminds me of the crazy nightmarish dream I had last night, after watching Henry Fool and Fay Grim back to back. It started out normal enough. It seems that in my dreams, I am always the main character until something goes wrong, then it's like reading a book in the third person.

I was in Mexico visiting family that I hadn't seen in a long time. Suddenly I'm being hunted, or I'm the hunter. It's a foggy plot, but as I'm runny away, I sustain a gun shot to the gut. I'm running and running and I find a place to rest my loins. I look at my hand and see the blood. Guts are protruding and I break off a piece and taste it.

At this point, the main character isn't me any longer...

I think my gizzards taste good and break off another piece with my hand and insert it into my mouth. Eventually, like a zombie, I'm holding up entrails from my gut to my mouth and ripping off a piece with my teeth.

this may be of some interest to you. Hal is working on a trilogy this year and it's called Ned Rifle. Check out more about this project on his website Possible Films.
