Captain's beard?

Does anyone why the ship captain only has half a beard?

reply

I couldn't figure that out either, but it was the least of the stupidity of this movie. Our entire family hated this movie.

I was unable to find a reason for the captain having a half-beard, but when La Befana (Granny Rose in the American reworking) replaces the captains jacket and clothes after the little girl dressed him up as a doll and apparently removed his beard, Granny Rose simply replaces his beard and covering his full chin, so at best the half-beard was a manufacturing error.

I don't know if more was made of it in the Italian version, but if it was, it appears to have been deemed unnecessary in the English version.

I looked over it, and while the captain referred to himself as having only half a beard, I couldn't find a reason.

However, when he went to a girl named Samantha instead of a boy named Sam, as he thought, and she dressed him up in doll clothes and apparently removed the half-beard, when La Befana (renamed Granny Rose in the American reworking), she returns the captain to his sea captain look and simply replaces his beard and covering his full chin, so it appears it was nothing more than a manufacturing error at best.

Don't know if anything was said about it in the Italian version.
