Great moments, little things not to miss

Like when Bob promised Elizabeth that they would go to Italy together some day

or Sydney with his hands on the glass

or when Mel falls for Grace too.

Any others?

We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny FREAKIN Kaye!

I thought the four old guys basically stole every scene they were in. They helped make the movie.

THE BEST PART OF THAT FILM, BAR NONE

When Grace passes Bob in the zoo and feels a strange sensation and says that whatever it was, it didn't hurt.

The fact that Carol O'Connor and David Duchovny were in a movie together is something not to miss. They were both great.

I could imagine in my head Archie Bunker yelling at Mulder for being a meathead searching for aliens. :)

LOL funny there dawnm5--

I found it funny when Bonnie Hunt's character was telling the hubby to change the baby as he is sitting there drinking his beer, and Grace says I'll get it. And as she is picking up the baby and walking away, Jim Belushi just sits there, still sipping, keeps saying I got it Grace... I got it...lol

Another funny one was when Robert Loggia goes to the window as the grandpa and Mulder are outside talking about Grace, and Robert goes, Holy sh*t! He's got em in a headlock! Don't do it! Sooo funny....;-)

Hi, howaya?

When Bob finds out about Grace's heart belonging to his wife, and rests his head on Grace's chest, and can hear her heart beating....The heart of both of the women he loves...OMG

How's this gonna work if you don't do what I say?

When Grace and Bob go out into the garden and the old men put on Sinatra.

Then Sophie walks out of the kitchen and the old men are all dancing.

At the end, when you think the wedding is for Grace and Bob and it turns out to be Sophie and one of the old men, the priest is a priest again, and Bonnie Hunt's character is once again pregnant.

I'm watching this with my wife here on Thanksgiving morning, we've seen it many times it is one of her favorites. One bit I just saw for the first time, it's so small, but a perfect little bit for Jim Belushi's character.

Early in the movie when everyone is in the waiting room while Grace gets her heart transplant, Robert Loggia has brought a bottle of wine. Bonnie Hunt complains that the kids are drinking the wine and goes on a bit of a tear. Just as she turns to Jim Belushi to ask for his help with the kids, the camera turns to him casually reaching up with his right hand to his neck, and we see an empty wine cup on the table behind him still rolling about, since *he just stashed it!*

This takes up all of about 3/10 of a second in the movie, but it's another example of the little touches that really flesh out the characters and the story.

Oh, so many little things that erally make this movie so special.

* No one's mentioned the whole thing with Carroll O'Connor's character and one of the old guys going thru the door at the same time -- the guy who happened to look a bit like the Barney character from All in the Family -- getting stuck, and ultimately, Carroll getting thru first. Same hand motions and inflections and everything. That is classic, classic, Archie Bunker, and I loved that moment so much. Such a tip of the hat.

* The look on Sophie's face when she stops abruptly at the sight of the old guys dancing.

* Mulder feeding the french fries to the gorilla thru the bars.

* "Hey kids! Sammy Sosa over here! It's Sammy Sosa!" And off goes David Alan Grier running for his life.

* When Grace comes down in her shower cap and her robe and sees Bob, her look of "OHMIGOD" is priceless; even better? The very minor screwing of her eyebrows to say, "Oh no, you totally are seeing me in a shower cap, and I look ridiculous." Those two looks are tiny but huge and awesome.

* Minnie checks to be sure her scar is not showing often thruout the film. Tiny little things liek this bring such believability to this story.

* The dog constantly chasing after Minnie -- who has his mommy's heart.

* Jim Belushi's character's constant, profane rants in front of his kids, then he calms down and in the next instant, it's like business as usual. Hysterical.

* In Italy, the waiter sits down, settles in and say, "I take my break now." Sob!

* The four old guys and Sophie are such a family. Just awesome. Every minute they're on screen is gold.

* When Waly goes to take Sophie home, thew hole thing with the door, then they're out the door, and Sophie sees Bob drive up and yells, "Wally!" and points, "Bob!" And they run back in to be sure not to miss any of the details.

* When Mulder says, "Right here in the middle of the city, it's like a garden." Then mentally kicks himself, cuz duh, of course, it's a garden!

There is simply nothing about thsi film I don't love.

when grace finally mails the letter and bonnie hunt's character tells her children "your aunt grace just sent a very important letter. let's all clap for her" and the kids do. funny little moment

When Bob keeps messing up making the popcorn..poor guy...Jim and Bonnie's chemistry...can you imagine these two really married...I think it would be just like in the film...When Jim's character is yelling for the kids to behave when they already are behaving but he is the one freaking out because the former priest is coming over...Tops has got to be when Jim's character wants to beatup Bob because he thought he cheated...I almost wet myself.

The best line in the movie for me, and one of the best lines I've heard in any movie: "What was God thinking!?" She delivers it so honestly, and it is probably the most fitting thing that could be said at that point.

Many others:

"I don't touch men."

"My husband's the one on the right."

"I'm going to put on some more lipstick." "Is that possible?"

"Did mommy take you to see the elephants?"

"No one will notice your chest."

"You'll be long time in purgatory, you will."

"I don't know much about poker, but I think all these picture cards are a good thing."

"I'm a vet." "Yeah, I never went to 'Nam."

"Here you go, Mr. Atsuki."

"Your ass is ringing!"

"This may sound juvenile, but can I hold your hand?"

And on and on and on.....

A lot of my favorite things have already been mentioned, so I might repeat.
I love the little things that connect Elizabeth and Grace, like Sydney's hands, and Mel, and Italy. But other things I love from this movie...

When Angelo(I think it was) was looking at Marty and Bob through the window and Sophie and the others are like "Oh come on, sit down." and Angelo goes, "He's got Bob in a choke hold! Holy sh*t!" And they all jump up and run to the window

When Bob was on his really bad double date and Marla or Martha, w/e her name was, was so specific about the water, and then Bob sees Grace filling the Aquafina with tap water. Both the looks on their faces are great. His when he sees her. Hers when she realizes she's been caught.

Bob fiddles with the top button of Grace's blouse and she smacks him.
"Did you see anything?"
"I wasn't looking!" and then after the whole dream excuse, she kisses him and then walks away.

When Bob asks her out. Definitely one of my favorite scenes.
"Would you go out with me?"
"Yes?"
"Was that a question?"
"No, it was yes, yes."
"So, tomorrow night?"
"Yes."
"8 o'clock?"
"Yes."
"I'll pick you up here?"
"Yes."
"Okay...you're a very difficult woman."

Megan: Hairy legs are your only link to reality
Grace: I think you should needle point that on a pillow
Megan: Well I just might! It kept me a virgin until, y'know...whenever!

Jim Belushi's scene when he comes home to see Grace crying is great.
Joe: Oh God, who died?
Megan: No one..
Grace: *crying* Bob's wife!
Joe:...He's married??!!
and then the rest of that...oh and of course, how every time Joe swears one of his kids always repeats the word he just said.

Megan: Oh great, you taught him hell...
Joe: Me? Maybe it was you!
Megan: I have never said hell you son of a b*tch!"

stuff like that. amazing! I love this movie <3

"Yes...No...To get to the other side...1.772..."

Yep, the filling of the water bottle with tap water was a great moment.

Another that no one has mentioned (or that I missed in going through this thread) is when Bob is leaving the restaurant and the valet brings his truck and when Bob climbs into the seat it is all the way front, making him all scrunched over the steering wheel until he moves the seat back.
