Aching for a re-make

This show has a great storyline but it is so poorly executed. The dialogue is just so stilted and the way people speak is really odd - it's like they don't understand where to pause. I assumed it was because it was done by non-English speakers. So I was surprised to find that the voice actors were Canadian.

If this was remade with a cleverer dialogue, better voice acting, and improved animation, it could be really fantastic.

There's going to be new eps in Sept 2012 continuing the story in Asia.

The animation was perfect - much better than what is on TV for children today.
I have always watched the French version and the dialogues were fine.
Perhaps it deserves to be re-dubbed but a remake would completely ruin it.

NO! I REFUSE IT!

You can't replace Adrian Knight as Tao! His character in English was the only decent dub.

They used GIRLS for Tao in French and Japanese, GOD knows about the other languages. He's meant to be a 13-yo boy hitting puberty so his voice already broke. Yet they used GIRLS for him!?

To the OP

the story was 'poorly executed'???

Have you even fu**ing seen it??? It's the greatest animated show in history and not 'aching' for a remake in any way!

You got your wish, but you can't better perfection

it does need a re-boot even if they kept the the story the exact same but re make do the voice acting and audio. It was a fond memory of my child hood but as an adult doesnt seem as good.

As an adult, I have re-watched the 1982 series (twice).

I was amazed and enthralled as I was when I was young.

Having now watched the 2012 season (season 2), the voices differed from the original; especially Tao. The new voices grated on me in the first couple of episodes but the story line hooked me in and I got over them. Well, except for Sancho and Pedro who were vitally more annoying both in sound and performance in the new series.

The original voices were much more attuned to the real characters. I admit, the characters did develop in the second series, however the new voices seem to lack the innocence that the characters once had.

If you haven't seen the second series - watch it. It does however really indicate to me that a re-make of the original would really cause it to lose its charm and that it should stay as it is.

No way does this need to be remade or rebooted, it would be terrible. I'm happy with it the way it is.
