Is this possibly a sequel to The Journey Begins?

I wonder that because of the following things....

-In a flashback, it shows Liu Kang fight (& kill) original Sub-Zero during the Mortal Kombat tournament. I know that exact same happened in the 1st Mortal Kombat movie as well.

-It's stated that the Lin Kuei as well as the Shirai Ryu (Scorpion's clan, but the name is never mentioned) are from Outworld (which was also stated by Rayden in The Journey Begins) & in this, at least the Lin Kuei are loyal to Outworld.

-The Journey Begins ends with the Mortal Kombat tournament beginning (obviously after that, Liu Kang fights original Sub-Zero).

I just assume the following Mortal Kombat universes exist....

Universe 1- Canon games
-Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
-Mortal Kombat 1
-Mortal Kombat II
-Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
-Mortal Kombat Special Forces
-Mortal Kombat 4/Mortal Kombat Gold
-Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance/Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition
-Mortal Kombat Deception/Mortal Kombat Unchained
-Mortal Kombat Armageddon
-Mortal Kombat (2011) (follows Armageddon, Raiden sends a message to himself in the past which will create a new universe parallel to this 1)

I'm told that Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks & Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe are non canon.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy on the other hand is in question. i'm not sure if it's canon or not, so yeah this game is pending.

Universe 2- Live Action stuff
-Mortal Kombat Conquest
-Mortal Kombat: The Movie
-Mortal Kombat Annihilation

Universe 3- Animated Stuff
-Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins
-Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm

I'm not saying I'm 100% right about all these. Most of these are just guesses ( or theories if you will).
