Why Stryker and not Johnny Cage?

Was really disappointed about that but still great series. Wish it had more seasons. Damn you USA Network for pulling the plug on the Saturday Morning Cartoons

Johnny Cage was not in the show because the show loosely followed the movie continuity, and Johnny Cage died at the beginning of the second movie.

When this show came out that crappy 2nd movie wasn't done yet

lol There was no point no to include him they just chose not to like a another important character aka: Kung Lao. The whole story of this is basically made up from scratch since it's set after the first movie. Hell it portrays heavily from the first episode that Jax and sonya barely know one another when there partners in the games. lol

I liked Stryker better and it was unique to put him in the cartoon since he's a fighter without any powers

What people didn't realize is that this show took a lot from MK3, in which Johnny had been killed when Shao Kahn first starting merging the realms. Yes, it does follow the first movie, but also uses events from that game.

Johnny Cage is annoying. He talks too much.
