How is it that no where in the article or comments has anyone mentioned that this is based on an American pulp character created by Edmond Hamilton in 1939. He, Grag, Otho and the rest appeared in the Captain's own title for about four years and then became a semi-regular feature in Starling Stories until Thrilling/Nedor/Better Publications quit its pulp line in 1953.

The credit at the beginning of each episode clearly said it's based one Edmond Hamilton's work.
