RIP: Violinist Svend Asmussen dies at 100


The world famous violinist Svend Asmussen is dead at 100

The Danish violinist Svend Asmussen has died at 100 years old. Asmussen is famous for its jazz violin, which he generously shared out in collaboration with some of the world's most famous musicians.

He played with Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and Fats Waller. He played for revues in Denmark, played with Josephine Baker, history's most celebrated banana skirt, was the voice for King Louie in the Danish version of Disney's 'Jungle Book'.

And he was also the father of Claus Asmussen, one of the main characters in Shu-bi-dua, which he also starred.

"I have often been accused of being a chameleon, and there may be something about. I've always mixed me in many things, "he said in an interview in this newspaper for its 100th birthday last year.

Svend Asmussen performed and published music, he was in the late 80s.
