now Mels officially back in HW...Lethal 5?

Prior to Mels ..'troubles'..Shane Black was developing LW5 to be set in a blizzard in NYC (presumably to be directed by Donner).. but now he's back (he's bad your black I'm mad!) I wonder if Blacks Lethal 5 could be relit?

-Shane Black is a big director now so if he wanted go back to it he could write and direct after Predator 4 (Donner abit too old to be directing a big action movie now, and it'd be more fresh/interesting having Black directing anyway)

-ok theres the remake TV show but that didn't stop Arnold Terminator movies after the TV show (and same for 'official' Superman and Batman movies while Smallville/Gotham were happening)

-Mel followed his Braveheart Oscar success with Lethal 4. Maybe he'll do the same after Hacksaw

-he could do with a guaranteed hit to put him back on the acting map to follow breaking back into directing (Blood Father got favourable reviews but wasn't a big hit)

-all of Mel's action peers have returned to their iconic roles in belated 20 years on sequels..(plus he's only 60 so he's actually younger than most of those guys). he can't do Mad Max now but he could do LW

-theres been 5 Die Hards. It dosnt seem right theres only 4 LWs!

As much as I would love another LW, I don't think they will go for it. Mel is still relatively young and in shape, but Glover isn't. He's not very old, but seems to not be very fit. I don't think Gibson is interested in doing another one either. He seems ready to be doing other stuff, like directing and acting in dramas. I would love to see another Mad Max with Mel but I just don't know if he would do it.

I think the film franchise of Lethal Weapon is pretty much done and dusted at this point unless they reboot it as a film series which is possible maybe 5-10 years down the road (depending on the success of the TV show).

Also, there's no real need for there to be another Lethal Weapon film. Riggs is happy and has his family, Roger has his grandchild etc.

5 Die Hards, but Die Hard 4 & 5 were awful. Sub-standard action movies that featured Bruce Willis so they just slapped the name "John McClane" on the character.

That's right, Lethal Weapon 4 had the perfect ending for the franchise. Almost over-the-top happy, but it's just what the characters deserve at the conclusion of four movies. There really shouldn't be another sequel.

At the 30th anniversary thing Mel says he's up for LW5

“You’d play off the fact that they’re not as limber as they used to be. And I think that would be fun,” he chipped in.

Now the TV show is dead (thanks to Damon) now the time to do LW5

Unfortunately at this point Danny Glover really is too old for that shit.

well , its been about 30 years since he first said it ...

Kill Danny off in the first 10 minutes so he gets a cameo and there's a revenge story set for why Mel is back at it. Easy.

Reminds me of the time someone asked if Clint Eastwood would be interested in bringing back Dirty Harry and he joked about shooting fish with a Bazooka at his retirement home.
