Ending of the American version?

SPOILER ALERT!













They make it to the Green Planet and at the end the clouds part to show New York or Manhattan city as I recall. The twist being that these are really aliens heading to Earth instead of coming from Earth. Seems also the US version removes mention of being saved by a forcefield from the new planet at one point. Also looks like they removed a subplot involving the birth of a baby on the ship.
Otherwise the movie seems remarkably intact as opposed to what was done to Planeta Bur...
