I gave up on this show

Back in like 2011 or 2012, hadn’t found it funny in years (I remember imaginationland being the point where I admitted to myself that the show really wasn’t that good anymore). Then just recently I decided to give it another go and I think I just watch an episode from Season 18 and it really wasn’t that bad. Sure it wasn’t as good as the first 8 seasons but it was definitely better than what we got from like 2008-2011, anyways have the really recent ones been decent or did the show lose it’s sense of humor again?

reply

I haven't enjoyed South Park since it got all political and started making episodes revolving around the 2016 election.

reply

What difference does it make really? If South Park was still following the exact same formula as the first few seasons then we’d just have a different group of whiny bitches railing on about how they’re just doing the same thing over and over.

reply

No ones complaining about the formula, in fact the formula is exactly the same as it was back in 97, the complaint is that it’s not funny

reply

SAME SHOW MADE BY THE SAME GUYS SINCE 97...I FIND IT TO BE JUST AS FUNNY IF NOT MORESO NOW...I HONESTLY THINK A LOT OF FANS JUST GREW OUT OF IT.

reply

Not sure if I'd go that far, I still find the first 8 seasons hilarious.

reply

Also, there's only so much you can do with animated shows. The Simpsons got lame, Family Guy got redundant, American Dad feels like fan fiction, and South Park lost its edge.

reply

You may have given up on this show, but this show hasn't given up on you.

reply

I JUST BOUGHT AND WATCHED SEASON 23...I HAVE ENJOYED AND OWN EVERY SEASON...LIKE ANY SHOW IT HAS ITS HIGHS AND LOWS...ITS LOWS ARE STILL BETTER THAN 98% OF ANYTHING ELSE BEING BROADCAST.

reply

I still find this show hilarious! I laughed hysterically throughout the entire pandemic special. Always looking forward to new South Park. I don’t know if I’ve laughed as hard at ANYTHING in the last several years as I did when Macho Man Randy Savage competed as a woman at the Olympics! That was comedy gold right there!

If you want to see shows that are sad pathetic shells of what they once were, I recommend checking out The Simpsons and Family Guy, who are now bowing down to the people they used to spoof.

Yes, i quit watching about 10 years ago. Does not seem funny any more, I did not understand or follow the current events they focused on. I am old now.

Bill Burr is old. Set in the 70s. https://moviechat.org/tt4326894/F-Is-for-Family

The episodes are the same , You are 20 years older .
Y'all's sense of humor has faded away . it happens with age.

💯

reply

It's not the same. The show's episodes are all based on social or political events now. As in they are all "specials" related to a hot topic. Characters like the police and the took my job crowd now show up in a way you can predict based off of the episode name even.

It wasn't always like that. If you think the show is as funny now as it was before that's fine but it's a sign that you've changed during that time as well.

reply

💯% wrong. The first few seasons still make me laugh.

reply

the last good season was around 12-13. after that it was mostly trash
