South Park seems to stray from its libertarian roots with its Amazon-bashing episode

On the heels of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's reversal on climate change, South Park released another episode this week tackling Amazon. "And this one," says Matthew Rozsa, "might undermine another of the show's deep-rooted beliefs — namely, the virtues of free market capitalism."

I doubt they even write this shit themselves anymore.

reply

Eh, they already made fun of Walmart and it’s effects. It was long overdue to do an Amazon episode or two . They had to eventually

reply

Oh, so they're turning out to be the hypocrites I always thought they were.

reply

Libertarianism is not solely a belief in free-market capitalism. It's the belief that rich assholes should control all of society and everyone else should be reduced to a serf-like status. Well, that's not how they put it, but it's the reality.

reply

Lol, that's not at all what libertarians believe.

reply

I didn't know middle school boys using bad language was the essence of libertarianism.

reply

Of course it is. I note that you don't offer any significant counter-argument, just the usual argument-free, idea-free, evidence-free idiocy. I suppose that you're a temporarily embarrassed billionaire yourself, yeah, minimum-wage loser?

Libertarianism is eutopian thinking for the rich. There's no need to engage with reality, just spout your nonsense and shove off, shallow pate.

reply

Is that what your stupid Marxist professor told you? What's it like to be unemployable?

reply

What a moronic take. Lol.

Anyone who reads is Salon is a moron, just like their writers. People have beliefs, but "show's deep-rooted beliefs" is bullshit!

reply

Libertarians always end up contradicting themselves because libertarianism falls apart the more they defend the free market.
