Ian Mcdiarmid Revealed That The Order 66 Montage Was Originally MUCH More Violent And Disturbing, We Were Originally Gonna See The ENTIRE Temple Massacre Including The Younglings Getting Murdered, the gate keeper getting impaled through the head, anakin’s lightsaber Duels With Cin Dralig And Serra Keto and their subsequent deaths, The Old Librarian Lady Getting Murdered, Plo Koon Getting Shot to pieces Mid Air, Barris Offee Getting Gunned Down And Stomped On, and Luminara Getting Gunned Down; a good chunk of the temple massacre was in the video game, but knights of the force showed EVERYTHING. all that stuff definitely should’ve been in the movie since it was such a huge turning point and I think George Lucas definitely could’ve gotten away with it since it was “sci-fi” violence

i know, but I just said that this was such a dramatic turning point story wise where evil had the upper hand at that moment and that’s why I felt that all the extra stuff should’ve been in it, and yes, it would’ve scared Disney away too lol

Something in between would have been just right. It should definitely have shown a few of the established Jedi being cut down by Anakin. Both to show the brutality and extent of Anakin's grown skill. Make it clear the whole temple has been routed. Then you keep the same teasing implied massacre of the younglings, but you still don't show that, this isn't a horror movie, it's Star Wars. Since we have to cram Anakin's decent to the dark side into a single sequence, the "in for a penny, in for a pound" progressive slaughter of the Temple could have condensed all his emotions in a nicely metaphorical way. Instead, by cutting straight to the slaughter of the younglings, the most disturbing moment of the movie actually plays for comical laughs. It was edited like a damn Monty Python sketch.

I know it’s not a horror movie, I’m just saying George Lucas “could’ve” gotten away with showing everything that happened in the temple

I think it was fine as it was. There's no need to be extreme in a movie like this. Especially when you consider your fan-base.

The way it is currently does remind me of my favorite scene from The Godfather when all the mob bosses were killed off by one by one (it was in fact inspired by that), that much I will say
