Marijuana-enduced?

Did anybody else feel like they should have been high while watching this movie, or would that have caused too big a "freak-out"? Will anyone even respond to this actually?

Say, do any of you know the Madison?

reply

I'll respond, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Love Brel; haven't seen the movie.

The Madison? Do you mean the dance? I saw it on "Hairspray".

I rented it before seeing the current revival off broadway and almost turned it off. It is VERY weird.
I didn't get the background dancers that looked like they were from 'Hair' while the principles were in period clothing - ie like in the number "Brussels"

Since the stage show is VERY different, the movie only served to make me familiar with some of the songs.

LOL. That's the same thought I had about 20 minutes into it. I think it's just very dated; experimental for its time and now feeling self-indulgent and trite. The songs were hit or miss (mostly miss for me). Somehow it was a disappointment since I knew one song from the show and was looking forward to seeing the movie, but frankly found myself compelled to do the bills and laundry while watching. Just didn't hold up as well as contemporaries like "Hair" and "Godspell". I suspect watching it live on stage in a cabaret setting would be quite different and better.
