Has anyone here been to an anime convention?

I've been to UBcon a few times. Twice when I actually attended UB, once otherwise, and I plan on going again this year. It's not the biggest, and not strictly anime (anime, gaming, and comics all lumped in to one) but it was a lot of fun still

I know this is a very old thread, but I have been in humdred of anime conventions since 2004! None in Northamerica nor Japan, though. I have been invited to Japan but the plain tickets are quite expensives and at that time my full time job didn't allowed me to.
Here in my home country (Chile) I have meet wonderful people through anime conventions, like the community of chilean cosplayers (some of them are truly talented!), most of the Latinamerican voice actors of Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, and incredible people like Hirenobu Kageyama (I was so happy and nervous!), some foreign cosplayers like Lillyxandra (she's the sweetest), Stella Chuu, I meet costume designer H Naoto (he's very cool!), and a lot of really nice people. Now I don't have time to go to anime conventions, I go like twice a year, if I can.
