THANK GOD This is Ending

It always amazes me how people get suckered into these daytime talk shows and I always felt Montel Williams was at the bottom of the heap, right alongside Jerry Springer.

Williams is really nothing but an actor, but comes across overly-assured of himself as if he has all the right answers. He is not a good enough actor to hide his arrogance which makes him a hardly affable TV talking head.

His biggest downfall was having that fat, vodka-drinking cigarette smoking psychic on his show every other day. She is a fraud, who has faced criminal charges in the past. Williams himself knew she was a fraud but continued to have her as his guest.

All of these talk shows are senseless. Hopefully one day, along with reality shows, this genre of TV will fade away and we can get on with programs that truly have entertainment value and not just forced down our throats because they are cheap to produce.

I agree with you a bit, I was never a big fan of this show and I agree that stupid psycho lady is a sham, that was his downfall more than anything else! I guess I'm kind of old school when it comes to talk shows, I watched a ton of them while in college during the late 80s early 90s and all and all his show really wasn't bottom of the barrel in the history of these shows. There were sooooo many more bad talk shows than his, anyone remember the old Morton Downy Jr. Show? After that show it all started going down the tubes, with Geraldo, Jerry, Maury and others going sleeze. My friends and I always watched Geraldo and we thought Montel was just a Geraldo want-a-be only more harmless. If you think about the harm to society alone, Jenny Jones and Jerry killed and harmed many more than Montel ever could claim, in fact I think Montel sincerely wants to help people with his motivational stuff and drugs for poor people effort. He just went over the edge like so many other talk show hosts have. I wont miss his show but there are so many others that are worse.

agreed, glad he's going off.... but he's already made his bucks, he was just riding it out getting as much as he could, airing shows that (many) people wanted to see , such as the freak physic.... so he's run his course, he will just pop up some where else....

I remember Morton Downey Jr; I used to watch that all the time. It was groundbreaking and innovative at the time, but, looking back, it was worse than Jerry Springer! He would even have "All-stars" episodes with his most vitriol guests.

Yeah, I agree that Sylvia Browne was the downfall of Montel. I can't stand her and I always found something else to turn to on Wednesdays.

There will always be talk shows as long as people are willing to watch them.

Sam: You're getting wise in your old age, Dean.
Dean: Damn right.

I agree, he was an arrogant phony, so was Sylvia...who just lies about EVERYTHING!!

Where do you get off calling Montel arrogant and a phony? Do you people know him personally, or did he do something that warrants you calling him arrogant? I've never been a fan of his show but he seems like a really nice guy, and he did some good things on his how, like with MS. To say he's a phony is pushing it too far. And btw, no show was worse than Ricki Lake.

I agree-if I watch this show I know I at least am watching something compassionate. Don't understand why people compare his show to Jerry Springer...there is no comparison. Montel's show is serious; at least the later years' episodes.

He really does seem like a nice guy.

Would you classify that as a launch problem or a design problem?-Real Genius
