Even the first time I saw this movie, my reaction to that line was; "Are you f...ing kidding me? What year is this?"
That's the message for women in 2000? ...they stay home, get pregnant and wash things?
Somehow Disney can even attempt to screw up their non-formulaic movies with stupid bits of propaganda. Mrs. Pacha is a decorative non-entity.
They were making a joke about pregnant women "nesting"...cleaning would help calm her down.
shareI agree. It was such a horrible thing for Disney to do. We probably couldn't count the number of young girls who saw this movie and immediately rushed out to cancel their future education and marry the nearest misogynist. Probably because that number is zero.

If you don't like the product, don't watch it. Plain and simple.

I always thought it was just Chicha's way of calming down. Some women read, take a walk or simply have a nap to calm down; I just assumed that washing dishes was Chicha's method. It's a kid's movie, don't take it so seriously. If people want to assume that Disney was subliminally saying that women belong in the home doing housework and nowhere else, that's their problem. It's the 21st century; I think we can all think for ourselves now.
