So Yoda didn't want Anakin trained as a Jedi because he sensed a lot of fear in him ?

Really !? The kid had nerves of steel and didn't seem to be afraid of anything.

Seem.

He had dark fears and they rightly predicted it could lead to the dark side. The Jedi a lot has to do with mind so despite his prowess accomplishments they knew the mind was more powerful.

that's like, one of the most typical common fears though lol

This must have played out in subsequent films because from just looking at ' The Phantom Menace ' the kid seems solid as a rock.

I thought it had to do with fear of losing his mother?

It makes even less sense to turn him away from the Jedi. What was the alternative? Let him go figure things out on his own, without Jedi guidance? How TF is that better? That a boy with his force power, conceived by the force, and suffering from great fear would be turned away?

He lays it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiImoO5QkcA

This makes a tonne of sense, and it's pretty sophisticated on philosophical and psychological levels. It lays neatly out the paths of desire and selflessness, and he even hints at balance being when the selflessness is not to the point of never wanting anything.

If you keep this in mind, it's clearer that Anakin's fear wasn't necessarily something that was active in him at any moment, nor was it some animal fight-or-flight adrenaline rush that would take him, but a deep, gnawing thing that made him afraid to lose things and made him want to possess and control people around him.

That's why somebody might have nerves of steel and never display any cowardice, but still have a dark, hungry fear driving their actions.

Of course, you're right to criticise the film(s), because we didn't see any of that handled remotely well in the prequels. None of this was shown to us through Anakin's actions or speech.

Yoda lays it all out right there.

"Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

The fear of losing people he loves (first his mother, then Padme) makes Anakin frustrated and ANGRY when he cannot save them.

His anger leads him to hate those that cannot help him (or who he deems are preventing him from saving them - Obi Wan, the Jedi) and ultimately leads him to suffer (loses Padme after choking her / suffers horrific injuries at the hands of Obi Wan).

Yoda was right.

He certainly does, although in such a condensed version that I think a lot of important nuance was lost. Brevity is the soul of wit, but too much whittling leaves it formless. Not that I don't like Yoda's sage advice - it's good stuff - but the expansion in the video touches on a couple points in more depth.
