I think they were afraid humanity would destroy them--which they did. I guess it was one of those self-fulfilling profecies we're always hearing about.

Are you stupid or something.... It's explained in the movie. Do you people watch movies with your eyes and ears closed.

No ass, I'm just deaf and blind! Next time don't be such a dick about things you know nothing about!

They feared that humans would become powerful and would want to destroy them so they decided to nip that in the bud before it became an issue.

Plot convenience?

Honestly, it makes no more sense than a planet of tree-people attacking Earth following the invention of fire.

Humanity created a ship that could absorb energy -- including the type of energy that the Drej were composed from -- and use it to create planet.

It's no wonder why this movie is rated so low. People don't pay attention to it, and knock it down for their own incomprehension.

The Drej feared the human would become too powerful. They had invented a machine - the Titan - that could create a hospitable planet out of natural resources and energy.

Why wouldn't they be scared?

It's no different from a real country trying to stamp out another, before becoming a threat, because it fears its progression. Or a company that buys other firms so they can have monopoly of a certain market.
