is it me or

is there way too mush cartoon nudity and violence to be pg

Well, in a way, yes. Some of the stuff in this movie are a bit more mature related and something you don't normally see in most animated movies. Maybe if it was released today, it could be could be rated PG-13. Then, again, I guess some really don't mind and the movie is probably giving us the assumption that even in the future, nudity and violence still exists.

There is no nudity in the film, they cover up everything don't they?
You can't call a naked back nudity, everyone sees naked backs on pretty much a daily basis, no matter how old they are, it's just like seeing naked hands and faces, it's just normal :)

I noticed btw they never show a kiss between Akima and Cale, not even at the end, that annoyed me :(

reply

i do remember them showing the whole back form head to feet before putting the towel on now so if you want to consider seeing the butt nudity then yes there was a little.

I don't know about way too much but it's certainly bloodier and has more mature content (if only suggested and not explicit)than some of Don Bluth's other movies, like Thumbelina and Anastasia. I think pg is more or less an appropriate rating.

Indeed, bella91.

There wasn't any nudity. And not much violence either. Seriously, back in 2000, kids didn't get babied the way they do today. Treating them like babies until they're 18 years old is actually something new.

^^This. Yeah, it's not much violence other than a guy getting his neck broken and the earth getting blown up. There's no nudity at all. Akima is covered up with a towel.
