They're in space, so who knows WHAT the age of consent might be (if there even IS any, given the mixture of different species and it's been so long since I've seen this that I forget how lawless their area of space was, if there was a governing body, etc). Also, you're basing your assertion on the law of the USA and a few countries with similar laws, where the age of consent is 18 (with some allowances for RANGE of age, so that a 19 year old isn't unfairly persecuted for pairing off with a 17 year old -- someone within their range who I don't think anyone would argue is inappropriate). In some countries, it's higher, or it depends on the kind of sex teens or young adults are having, or it varies due to homophobia when it comes to same sex vs opposite sex match-ups.
In some countries, age of consent is actually lower. Here in Canada, it's 16. I don't argue with that one -- hey, if we're allowing 16 year olds to drive and be responsible with their lives and those of others behind the wheel, then sex is pretty minor in comparison. I wasn't ready for sex that young, but plenty out there matured faster. I remember when I was in highschool, the age of consent was upped from 14 to 16 (it was only still on the books that young because for a long while, some demographics of east coasters were still getting married and starting families young...but they were long overdue for an update, the laws). I'm 34 now and have zero interest in chasing younger tail personally (way prefer my own age or 10 to 20 years older), but don't begrudge those that do so long as they're keeping it legal and not going after EMOTIONALLY immature legal teens and young adults either.
Short answer ? 19 with a 14 or 15 year old...they're still teenagers, it's kosher (IMO).
