Why is it so short?

This movie is criminally short. It takes 30 minutes to set up the plot and then it is wrapped up in 45 minutes, with a climax that is almost an afterthought. It was like the filmmakers wanted to accentuate every weak point of the first film to the nth degree! Anyone else agree?

The original ending of the film included a scene in which the World Trade Center towers opened up, releasing a swarm of UFOs into the air. Following the towers' destruction, the film's ending was changed.

It's only a couple of minutes shorter than the original and it didn't have to set up as much stuff as that film.

Though in regards to this film the shorter the better.

It had a very thin script that doesn't have as much substance for a feature length film, yet the film has some very unnecessary scenes to prolong the running time.
