What was your favorite animation sequence?

Mine was DEFINATELY Rhapsody in Blue. The artwork in that one was absolutly BREATHTAKING. I especially loved the analogous colors.

Rhapsody in blue is astounding!

"Night on Bald Mountain", which is on the original 1940 film "Fantasia" is my favorite part of that film, believe it or not. I've always liked powerful episodes that are somewhat dark, as well as things that go from light to dark, and/or back again, if one gets the drift.

reply

the firebird. As far as I'm concerned, matches the audio to visual better than any of the others.

dont be pessimistic. it wont work anyway

reply

The Firebird is a powerful one, but it's not my fave.
I'd have to say it's a tie between "Rhapsody In Blue" and the Tin Soldier one. I love how clearly you can see the toys' expressions in tin soldier, and it also goes really well the music.

AND THE FLAMINGO ONE, O' COURSE!! Cracks me up every time!!

I believe that Joseph Smith *was* a pamphlet.

reply

I thought that "The Firebird" was the most intense and the most powerful episode in "Fantasia 2000".

reply

"The Firebird" was my all time favorite in "Fantasia 2000", and "Tin Soldier" is my second favorite in this movie.

reply

Who doesn't love Rhapsody in Blue?

So long, and thanks for all the fish

reply

Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, definitely.
I don't know... I like them all except for the one with the whales... it just didn't really set the mood. Pomp and Circumstance was good, even though its that graduation song we've all heard a hundred times.

reply

From this film I thought the last one was amazing! What a beauty..
But definetly my all time favorite is Gershwin and his Rhapsody in Blue! The animation is gorgeous, and it is just Gershwin..

TI VOGLIO BENE

For the music, I'd say Rhapsody in Blue.
For the visuals, I'd say The Firebird.

I'm tied between Tin Soldier, because it's so warm and beautiful (especially when the soldier and the dancer are dancing together for the first time) and Firebird - I had to play that in orchestra a few years at school and then I watched the Fantasia thing of it.. It was gorgeous.

I love the Flamingos, for kicks, though. Made me giddy ^_^

reply

It's between the Tin Soldier and the Carnival of the Animals. I thought the latter was SO funny when I first saw it. The grumpy flamingo just killed me. And Tin Soldier always makes me cry a bit - that part when he goes over the "waterfall" - where the music just explodes - just does something for me.

"Rhapsody in Blue" all the way

Rhapsody in Blue was crystallised perfection. This is kind of embarassing to write but I actually got a little teary eyed during this part. It is overwhelmingly beautiful. In a few minutes you given characters, pathos, joy ,exuberance... I could go on. This is animation as pure art freed from commitee meetings, commercial ambition and other such nonsense. Wonderful.

reply

My top three would be the Firebird, Rhapsody in Blue, and Pomp and Circumstance.

reply

Both "The Firebird" and "Steadfast Tin Soldier" were my favorite Fantasia 2000 parts. I did think that "Steadfast Tin Soldier" was kind of sad, however.

reply

My favorite was definitely the Firebird.

Mine Is Without ONE DOUBT "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"!!!

I'm Never going to Stop Liking That One!!!

The Music And The Animation And The Story Is Incredible!!!

From 2000: Firebird Suite, Pines of Rome and Pomp and Circumstance(for some reason, Rhapsody in Blue doesn't appeal to me as much
From original: Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria, Sorceror's Apprentice and
