Bethesda's gamEbrYo

This film would have been much different if Cronenberg had seen the open-world possibilities of later PC games. Not many people would want to play a VR game like eXistenZ that was closed-world, forced a static storyline, and opposed their free will. With the release of Fallout 4 soon and improvements in ocular rift, change is here that few dreamed of at the end of the 20th century.

True, the movie is dated in its perception/understanding of modern games, but still way ahead of its time for back in the 90's.

No. I'd wanna play it :)

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Why would you want to play a game like eXistenZ?

I don't get it, man. You'd rather 'eXist' in Half-Life 2 than Fallout 3? Why?

reply

Who wouldn't? It looks totally fascinating! Great, beautiful scenery, interesting story and characters, etc. I'd love to immerse myself in it AND hopefully bone JJL :)

Interesting story?! "The twists and turns at the end made my, er, head spin..."
Cod: Ghosts had a better story than this game. "Cod". Cod is a type of fish. Trout is also a type of fish. Trout Farm.
Coincidence? I think not...

(I did like the movie, to be honest)

For the same reason a lot of successful games are simple ones. Not everyone wants to play some 80-hour open world, fetch quest, cut-scene riddled game.

Sometimes a simple straight forward game is more fun. There's a reason the Super Mario Bros franchise has been so successful for 30 years.

Can't stop the signal.

For the same reason I enjoy playing games like Uncharted - it's an experience, a rollercoaster if you will.

Would You like to know more?

You mean possibilities of a crappy dated engine that is almost as old as this movie?
Jesus you bethesda fans are the worst.

reply

Opposed to what engine..... I'd like to hear your superior choices and why if it's not a bother.

reply

One that dosnt have to load a room sized area every 5 steps and one that isnt as buggy as heel and one that has ai with proper path finding so they dont have to remove ladders from the game
How about unity, its cheap. Or maybe a new inhouse one like any other competent studio would make.
Gamebryo is what, 14 years old by now? Its a joke its still in use for aa titles when it barley works, or better yet it dosnt as bethesda games are notoriously some of the most buggy broken games in games industry.

If you're using this opportunity to bitch about a game dev, maybe you should move elsewhere, buddy boy.

reply

Im not your buddy kid.
How about you move somewhere else, somewhere nobody has to read your pathetic posts?
