Stupid B Class Movie

From story to acting, and from design to direction, this is the worst movie I ever watched. Even the concept about the future video/virtual games they put there is idiotic. A main programmer in the world's largest gaming company toasts her gaming device that resembles a cow's kidney and has cord like human intestine, appearance is messy and bad, is this the way human race will seek its design? totally crap and dumb storyline, third class acting, stupid dialogues all here mixed with that long "large intestine" like game cord.
Don't waste your time, you can still play tetris if you have plenty of time to spend.

1ST, the story (Existential Zen Super Virtual Reality) and acting are just fine, this movie is a B-Movie no doubt, but it is an interesting take on the future of gaming, pure Cronenberg. Seeking, you are not familiar with David Cronenberg's work. His focus is almost always about where the intersection of machine & human flesh meet, whether it's 'The Fly' or 'Videodrome'. The human umbilical cord is perfect. The machine is about straight lines, where the biological is warm & messy & functions as a machine. The human brain looks pretty gooey, within a clear sack, surrounded by blood & it's the most complex machine.

Comedy is not pretty

thats the problem though people expect more from him then a b movie the director felt out of his element here like he was trying hard to understand the video game world of fans an people that play them this felt like an older man trying to capture video game culture he was out of his element here this is one of his middle of the road movies its not horrible but its not good either its descent

third class acting,

which is all intentional. you missed the entire point of the movie if you truly believe what you typed up here and are only proving your ignorance.

Sounds like you didn't watch the whole flick. A true classic, IMO

Definitely for the more serious cronenberg fans, I love the bizarre that I can expect from him. Some of the storyline is sort of reaching and perhaps corny for lack of a better term but I enjoyed it. Most likely won't watch again very often but a good entry in the cronenberg collection.

It's amazing, the wonders a statement like "this is the worst movie ever" does to the credibility of a post and its author...

Dude.
Cronenberg was brave enough to make a movie that doesn't explain everything on a sixth-grade level, but leaves it to you to use your brain.

All that stuff you said was stupid and you hated? It's actually sly hints and clues as to what is really going on. Because the game relies upon the players own mind to provide context, direction and background, the Gamepods are freakish, disgusting organic monstrosities. That weirdness is due to the twisted minds of the two terrorist who are playing the roles of Ted Pikul and Allegra Gellar (Ted and Allegra aren't real people, just game characters).

They provide all the psychosis that shapes the weird imagery and impossible technology, because they hate virtual reality games and view them with horror and disgust. Thus the bone gun, Ted's squishy glowing Pinkphone, the fleshpods, the game ports, the umbilical cords and the horrifying amphibian mutants. It's all nightmare symbolism projected into the game by 'Ted' and 'Allegra'.

That weirdness is there, on the surface, to convey to you that what you are watching is a Game, not real. Other hints are less obvious - The way the night driving scenes look fake, with an old-fashioned rear projection screen. The way Allegra kicks the dust up outside of the gas station, and marvels at the detail in the world textures because she's pretending to be blown away by the realism of the technology. The terrible accents and the stilted dialogue that start at the very beginning of the movie and don't let up until the end when everyone is back in Reality. Some of the best actors in the world are in the cast. Think.

Just watch it again, and pay attention this time.

Considering a very brief look at your profile shows you rated The Last Days on Mars a 10 and Frozen a 9, you'll forgive us if everyone with an ounce of taste in films totally ignores your comment.

You obviously didn't watch the whole movie. If you did you'd realise that the organic gaming device doesn't actually exist, it is part of the game. If you saw it to the end, it would all make sense, and you would realise how brilliant it is. But you didn't, so your comment isn't valid.
Unless you actually did watch it to the end, then you're just a dumbass who can't follow movies unless it's all spelled out for you.
So you decide.....attention disorder or dumbass
