Gloria as an Irene Adler expy

Is she the only version to be portrayed as an overall decent person as opposed to a femme fatale or vamp?

reply

...in both the recent American "Sherlock Holmes" movies with Robert Downey Jr., and the TV series "Sherlock", Irene Adler is a bit more devious, but still with a sympathetic side in that they are both manipulated by Moriarty.

Jeremy Brett's 1984 Sherlock Holmes encountered a similarly decent Adler; she was shown at the end tearing up the incriminating letter and throwing it overboard. She'd never had any intention of blackmail, and in fact was shown to be kind and concerned about the homeless bum that was Holmes in disguise.
