I loved watching the TV show when I was a child. Great stories. Great concept. I love Will Smith. I adore Kevin Kline. Kenneth Brannaugh is fabulous. Salma Hayek was perfect as the damsel in distress. Ever since I saw the film on its day of release, I have wanted to LOVE it with 100% of my viewer's heart and mind. It is very disturbing to me that even after all these years, I cannot figure out why it was not GREAT. I can honestly say that I really don't think that my expectations were overly high, and the characterizations, costuming, and sets/locations were excellent. So, fellow film fanatics, PLEASE enlighten me, help me, whatever to figure out exactly what was wrong with it?
