Too bad I actually liked it. Haha, I saw this movie in theaters when I was 9 and loved it, I even remember collecting all the toys from Burger King. I have not seen the movie since then, wonder if I watch it today if I'll like it.

I think what hurts it are a few things.
1) It has Mel Brooks non-PC humor in a world where Mel Brooks would probably get crucified if he was starting out today.
2) The original series was more like James Bond meets the Old West. This was more of a fun and campy version.
3) The original series was so long ago I don't know if younger audiences have even seen the re-runs of the tv show. It was very new to younger audiences and a disappointment to older audiences.
It is an ok movie. It should have a 5 or a 6 rating. I am more disappointed that you had a great cast that wasn't utilized in a better fashion.

Except, Mel Brooks did it better. 'Blazing Saddles' still rocks. After 'Airplane', though, Mel might not find an audience.
Had they used a totally diff title, they'd not have invited the inevitable criticism.
