The Principal...in on it?

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but does anyone think the school principal may have been involved? He pointedly reminds Sam he needs an attorney and in a key act, recommends Ken, Sam enlisting Ken is essential to the plot...so I ask you, did the principal take a share of the profits to act like a friend to Sam (when he probably knew he was the school 'pussyhound') and point him in the direction of Ken...it would make sense to me
