What was with the random bit of ''Yellow fever''?

Saw this movie recently for the first time, never did I expect ''that'' bit included in it. And are they really that attractive when most are entirely fake and plastic surgery obsessed?

reply

With covid-19 most men aren't getting yellow fever anymore. They're staying far, far away from these chicks.

Are you talking about the producer/writers injecting an Asian woman reincarnation in Heaven scenario or Chris' daughter idolizing a woman who happened to be Asian? Either way, where's the "Yellow Fever" you speak of because there was no sexual or even romantic element to it.

reply

IIRC, Chris' daughter took the form of an Asian woman because he once said Asian women were beautiful. It was a brief line of dialogue that might be a bit awkward but was mostly harmless.

Her father found Asian women sexually desirable. I don't know if you watched the movie closely but his face lights up as soon as she appears before him after introducing herself. His daughter took the form of something her father admired as she said ''When I grow up, I want to be that''.

In a post Covid-19 world however this scene did not age well....

reply

I remember that scene but it never came off as "sexual" to me.

Anti-Asian sentiment must be something you see in your very midst, but that doesn't stop the same racists from viewing Asian women sexually.
