If your children died...

...would you choose life, or death?

reply

I'm not sure I could find the will to go on if something happened to my kids, every day would be a special kind of hell.

reply

Odd movie for an atheist to watch. And no Jessie James is not the best movie ever. It's one of the most over wrought and pretentious movies ever made. That prob what you meant

reply

If I had known in advance how awful the film was, believe me, I wouldn't have bothered with it.

That may be what you believe, but not even the Roman Catholic church is 100% "suicide is an unforgivable sin" now. Apparently there is a consensus that many people who commit suicide are so much not in their right minds, so far beyond reasonable thought, that they are not or are only partly culpable. Suicides can be buried in consecrated ground and have mass celebrated for them. The most recent thing I remember hearing is that the Pope or whatever group of clerics work in concert with the Pope said something along the lines of "We humans cannot know what a person is thinking in his or her last moments and we cannot know what or who God forgives in that moment. It is more merciful to believe that God has the mercy to grant absolution/forgiveness(?) to a person who commits suicide."

In case it's not obvious, I am not Catholic, but have Catholic friends.
