Iraq War Parallels

I watched this yesterday and was intriguied by all the parallel elements in the Albanian "War" and the Iraq War (though the current war, of course, is real). For example, the (hysterically funny) "American Border" song: "Proud to Be An American," anyone? Comparisons have already been drawn between Jessica Lynch and Schumann. Then there's the "every war needs an image" idea, such as the statue of Saddam Hussein being toppled by the Iraqis ("Control Room" made it appear that the men weren't even real Iraqis, or something. Can that be confirmed? Wasn't a very reliable film.) I could go on and on: "Courage Mom," the shoes, don't change horses in midstream...
