Winifred Ames rant SPOILER

When the plane with Schumann goes down and they are on the ground, Ames (Anne Heche) launches into a rather bizarre rant at Motss, "Commie peacenik" etc. Motss just brushes it off with his characteristic "this is NOTHING!" Ames was losing it in the plane when she found out Schumann was a prisoner, and why, and was lacking in the poise and the aplomb that Brean and Motss had. I found her character in this film a little bit redundant.
Her rant also sounded a little bit like a conservative "Middle American" railing against Hollywood liberals, even though Motss' character, though something of a Hollywood caricature, was actually rather apolitical.

"Chicken soup - with a *beep* straw."
