When the Priest pointed a gun towards the end at Baldwin's character...

... and James Woods' Jack Crow kept telling him to "back off", before the Priest tells him "He's a vampire, Jack", did Jack Crow honestly didn't KNOW it, like, did he honestly think the Priest would just point a gun at him and tell him not to leave because he doesn't want to miss his friend or something?

reply

of course Jack knew
and the priest realised he was going to let him go anyway

reply

Priest was just letting Jack know that he knows the drill now, and reminding him of what they're supposed to do.

But then why, if Jack Crow also suspected Baldwin's character of turning into a vampire by that point, was he angrily telling the priest to "Back off" in that scene? Did he just, perhaps, not want the priest to put a bullet at this point in his close friend even if he did turn into a vampire, or was he uncertain of why the priest was pointing a weapon at him and forcing him not to leave?

reply

the first one . " bullet at this point in his close friend even if he did turn"

reply

Yeah, a little bit how in "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1996), even when he did find out he turned into a vampire, as he was his brother, George Clooney's character did not want those people in that bar to kill Quentin Tarantino's character straight away without agreeing openly with him first.

reply

yeah same sort of thing

reply

But then I also wonder, when did James Woods' character suspect let alone realize that Baldwin's character has turned? And yeah, for that matter, why else would he as a priest be pointing a gun at him and ordering him not to leave?

reply

"why else would he as a priest be pointing a gun"
well jack knew by that point .

Like Clooney , he was just saying . "I'll do this , on my terms , once i've got my head around it and thunk about it for a minute " , whilst knowing the only solution is a bullet

reply

Yeah, he (Woods) probably at least suspected something was up in that hotel room when he noticed his bandaged hand, and might've noticed what looked like vampire bite marks on Baldwin's character on his neck and possibly at least once from a far him "roaring" like a vampire etc.

reply

Also, if James Woods' character REALLY knew...

Why then, given that he even agrees HIMSELF that "if your partner has ever been bitten by a vampire, never ever let him live", did he speak to that priest in such a manner as if he either didn't know Baldwin was bitten by a vampire or thought that the Priest was wrong to point a gun at him like that, and not even ask, even for pure confirmation, "Why are you pointing the gun at him?" and he just went "Damn it, padre, don't make me beat the sh*t out of you, BACK OFF!"?

And Woods kind of looked in that scene and spoke as if he either didn't know or had doubts but maybe he was just a bit stressed out and couldn't think straight or calmly?
