The last good John Carpenter movie?

I'm not saying that it's great, but he kept things pretty simple, James Woods gave maybe the best performance in any Carpenter film, and the music worked well.

Ghosts of Mars 2001
Vampires: Los Muertos 2002
The Fog 2005
The Ward 2010
Halloween 2018
Halloween Kills

given that thats all he's done since i'd agree.

"Vampires: Los Muertos is a 2002 American direct-to-video horror western film directed and written by Tommy Lee Wallace and starring Jon Bon Jovi as a vampire hunter. "

Definitely his last good movie

In the mouth of madness, if not counting Masters of horror tv-episodes.

Well, that's an earlier film. But I do think "Cigarette Burns" is pretty good. The fact that I don't remember his other Masters of Horror episode suggests that I didn't much care for it.

This. In the Mouth of Madness was his last good movie and one of his best at that.

I think he lost his touch after Prince of Darkness. Maybe he should just stick to producing.
