Cher at 53, too old for this movie

What an ego trip. Totally miscast. I didn't like the movie because of her.

She played an aging singer and she looked marvalous with a great singing voice. I loved her in the part.

IMDb; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...another poster

reply

yep, she looked great in here.

Oh, I get it now....you don't like Cher. No worries tho, she almost steals the film....almost.

I think she looks good. if anything, it is Joan Plowright i think who is rather too old for the part. her fiancee is supposed to have been killed in WW1, which suggest she was probably a young woman at the time (judging by his photo) which means she was probably meant to have been in her forties or at most fifties in the 1930s.

I read that there were conflicts of other actresses that were to be doing this part, but she stepped up. Joan Plowright is just amazing in any role she plays, forget the age. she was part of the ensemble!

Cher is never too old for any part she plays. I loved the movie because she really isn't the main, main actress, but just got the top billing.
