did the observation teams feel effects?

its pretty quickly that the enterprise crew start to feel the effects of the planet. so that should be the same for the people that were sent there to observe the the beings no? they built that elaborate hub? must have been there for months!



also if the inhabitants were so advanced to almost fix data then how couldn't they detect all the signs that they were being watched?
