This movie is so BORING. It's so cheaply made I can't understand how this got a theatrical pass. The CGI is a mess, everyone seems to be standing around not knowing what to do, with a plot so forgettable you wont remember it once the credits hit. How is it a film like this got made after First Contact was such a big action blockbuster that made good money. Who thought a movie about space amish was a good idea. At least the other bad Star Trek movies had some kind of hook to them, or something at least to keep your interest. I could watch Nemesis till the end of time and be entertained than to go back to this bore.

I'd argue that it's nowhere near as boring as The Motion Picture, nor as shoddy as The Final Frontier.

I'd argue that it's nowhere near as boring as The Motion Picture, nor as shoddy as The Final Frontier.

It's certainly better made and directed than The Final Frontier, but I've never understood the charge that The Motion Picture is a boring film. The 2001 Director's Edition, in particular, is one of the most beautiful science fiction movies ever made IMO.

The Motion Picture may have been boring, but it was pretty and a love letter to 2001 Space Odyssey. Final Frontier had klingons so it wasn't without action.

The enterprise E's Dogfight with the So'na wasn't action enough for you? There was more action in that one scene than the entirety of First Contact, where the Enterprise just floated in orbit for most of the movie while the crew walked through corridors.

Don't shop at Wal-Mart.

I guess you don't remember the epic battle with the borg cube, Picard using a tommy gun on the holodeck, Worf hacking away at borg with a machete, and Data snapping necks.

Which is more boring? Insurrection or Final Frontier? It's a toss up between these two of the worst ST movies.

Final Frontier had Kirk hamming it up, and had the campfire moment which makes it far better than Insurrection.

I have a rule... Boring OR Stupid, and it might still be OK. Boring and Stupid is what Insurrection is, so I would put it one peg down from Star Trek V. STTMP is substantially not Stupid.

It felt like a two part episode and not a theatrical film.
