geordi's eyesight

the planet seems to have given him back his eyesight, but im not clear on something, is the affect permanent? or did it wear off aftertime?

someone for the love of god please show a little mercy and kill me

I think that all the changes they experienced while on the planet due to the
whatever (some kind of magnetic rays or something?) go away once they are off the planet for a little while. Too bad. This movie has been on a lot lately. I know most people on the board didn't seem to care for it but for some reason it is my favorite. Didn't really care for the others.

I think him having to go back to the visor was stupid, the changes SHOULD be permanent. It would have been a neat way to evolve the character. Star Trek hates to evolve it's characters.

Data's emotion chip was destroyed (though he still felt a degree of emotion not to the same level as a human)

The plot of Wesley exploring other dimensions with the Traveler was scrapped for him just being another space Cadet.

Deanna Troi and Riker, Picard and Beverly never ended up together.

While I agree Geordi's eyes going back to how they were after this movie was silly, I will point out Troi and Riker get married in the next movie and Data's emotion chip is in full force in Generations and First Contact, possibly Nemesis. He doesn't use it in Insurrection by choice.

Georgi getting his sight back would only be when he was on the planet. However, after movie was over, he may have gotten eye transplants Since did have in Nemesis as well in the Voyager episode Timeless.

Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!

If everything on the planet were permanent the Sona wouldn't have been aging and require the entire plot they had thought up.
