Patrick Blowing His Head Off

If you watch the scene where Patrick Ross blows his head off, slow it down (on DVD or DVR) by frame. What goes flying in the air doesn't seem to resemble what you would think a head being blown off looks like. These is more white than red (blood). Not that I've seen anyone blow their head off but it just looks different than what you'd expect.

But if I had his child support bills (what with all his little boys he was birthing) I might blow my head off too!
