This movie IS Curb Your Enthusiasm...

...but with terrible acting.

If you imagine Larry David as both of the main characters, it's enjoyable.

Seriously, if this movie was done in the realism/mockumentary style of Curb (ie, using Curb's camerawork), and had better acting, it would be great.

Yeah they're definitely both trying to do Larry. It could have worked with LD and Jason Alexander, as they both can do 'Larry.' Bierko and Weber just aren't good enough actors for this.

I'm so good I don't need a signature.
Wait a tick....

"If you imagine Larry David as both of the main characters, it's enjoyable. "

Not much imagining needed though - I kept seeing and hearing Larry in almost every character in some way throughout the movie.

I also noticed many actors that were also on Seinfeld - the black cop and the truck driver that gave Richie a lift for example.

It's interesting how my perception of this movie has changed after seeing all the Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes between viewings. Now it's very easy to see this as belonging to the 'Curb'-world, and to sometimes wake up to the funny realization that Larry has a very strange looking face in this episode, before remembering what I am watching.

Someone who has watched enough Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes can easily hear Larry's words and mannerisms coming out of other people's mouths and bodies. It's a bit eerie at times, but it's definitely hard NOT to imagine Larry as both of the main characters. They speak and act so similarly - even their reactions resemble Larry's reactions in Curb Your Enthusiasm a lot.

I like classical music and all, but I don't think it's used very well in this movie - there's simply an overload of similar musics, it gets quite repetitive and boring, and it doesn't always help the scenes. In Curb Your Enthusiasm, music is used a bit better - but it suffers slightly from the same problem - too many times we hear the same exact song that has been already used many times before in a similar scene, etc.

I think this movie is pretty much just a Curb Your Enthusiasm-episode with different actors and surroundings. Enjoyable indeed, though not as good as Curb Your Enthusiasm at it's best.
