Did anyone notice...

Did anyone notice how they tried to pass Artie Lange off as Chris Farrelly? They dyed his hair blonde and made him accident prone like all of Chris Farrelly characters.

reply

i thought they dyed his hair blonde to look more like david spade bacause in the movie he was supposed to be like him.

I think it was a lame attempt on the filmmakers part to fill Chris Farley's talented shoes. Look at the scenes where David Spade and Artie Lange are standing side by side. Then tell me the filmmakers weren't trying to pass Artie as Chris.

he seems to work better with bigger people.

It does seem a shame that they were so obviously tryiing to pass off Artie Lange as Chris Farley. I'm sure he's a great actor in his own right, but they were some huge shoes to fill, and unfortunately he didn't succeed in this role.

reply

well it wasn't a big role anyway

In the Trivia page it says the role was written for Farley. In my opinion Farley must have been doing Spade a favor because the role as the movie sucked.

reply

yeah, it was too small a role to make a difference.

i actually think the movie was good, but that's for another thread.

reply

the role could have been larger until it needed to be re-casted due to the unfortunate death of Farley.
I'm with you....I actually enjoyed the movie. Would have been nice to see how it would have been with Farley.

It worked pretty well, as a sight gag anyway. The 1st time Lange shows up on Spade's doorstep, with the dyed-blond hair styled exactly like Spade, and Spade says - 'this is so Single White Female' - I was laffing my ass off.

reply

honestly, i think that was like the only funny part of this movie was that artie lange was trying to become david spade like in the movie single white female. thats why his hair was blonde, it wasnt trying to be like he was chris farley (with the hair at least)
