Where were the USA parts filmed? That house they are in is beautiful, and in a beautiful location. The movie claims it is "Hanover", but Hanover where? And was it filmed there as well?

I THINK it was set/shot in North Carolina. It's more clear in the book, but my copy of the book is boxed up at the moment.

Wilmington, NC which is in New Hanover County. They have filmed hundreds of Movies and television series and tv movies there.
