any copy of the US version is about $100! Why is this so expensive and hard to find?! I love this movie!
shareI just saw that too! I'm glad I bought my copy a few years ago at a reasonable price. It appears to be out of print. I don't think there will be a Blu-Ray because of the lack of interest in the film. It's possible that another company acquired the rights to the film when they merged or purchased another studio or company. Lionsgate is known to purchase large libraries and discontinue print rights.
shareYes, it's been out of print for a few years now. I'm not sure why it's not included as part of one of the films in the Merchant/Ivory Collection (an off-shoot of the Criterion Collection, I believe), but it really should be. This is surely M/I's most overlooked and underrated film.
I'm still watching my sad old VHS tape... if the Merchant/Ivory people made a good transfer of it with extras and cast interviews (I'd be interested to hear from the young actors and Kris K in particular), I think it might at least break even.
