what is the original ending?

Anyone know what is the original ending, with the big digital wave by Industrial Light and Magic, and Cage under water thing? It sounds interesting. Is it included in the DVD? or any documentary film of this movie? Just curious

And by the way, to that guy who said he's an extra of the film and saw Cage's acting up close: if you know how many fans Cage have you would say such kind of stupid thing like "totally devoid of talent". If you really have the experience of working in a movie, you should know this: watching anyone acting up close will give you similar feeling, that this one's acting is fake and unnatural. That is why movies are meant for big screens.

I don't know the original ending. As a side bar, the only thing that I do remember reading was an article in a newspaper siting that they cut the scene from the movie because it tested “bad” with audiences. As for the DVD release, bare bones expect for the trailer to the movie.

Apart from the CGI wave and Cage underwater recollection, I heard somewhere it involved some kind of water chase scene...don't know any details though.

Also, not having the wave is a shame cause it ruins his line near the beginning, that went something to the effect of wishing the storm would wash the whole city away.

Finances too I imagine.

you very briefly see the wave at the end. It flows over the wall washinga van and causing the police van to swerve. Cage and the girl alos talk about being under water.

The ending got cut , because poepl ewere tired of disaster flicks and it tested bad. I would still like to see it some day.

That explains a lot. I just saw the movie, and there was a reference to "running through a tunnel full of water" that made no sense at all.

It does make sense as Sinise's character talked hauntedly about the men trapped in the vessel he served on in the navy. Drowning in water due to the then necessary actions of the man. Cage relates to this when he is stumbling down the corridor to the locked door with Sinise's character shadowing over him.

I don't own the DVD, so I can't double-check; but if you are referring to the same scene I am (ie the last in the movie), that explanation seems a bit of a stretch.

I saw part of the original ending. Cage and Gugino were chased by a flood. They narrowly avoid drowning, and they escape and survive.

I don't recall. But I did see a split second of it. Maybe I was confused. I wasn't concentrating then.
