Possibly one of the best sleepers EVER

This is one of those movies that no one remebers but everyone enjoys (to one degree or another) when they see it. I've shown this movie to several people over the years. Most have said they loved it. The worst review was, "it was pretty good".
I think It was one of Cage's best performances ever, and the rest of the cast (Sinise) was great too.

Really? I thought it sucked.

Are you serious? I just got done watching Snake Eyes and thought it was pretty bad. I'm not a Cage fan and I thought he was especially awful in this. Why is he famous again? Sinise didn't fare much better. The dialogue was terrible. The cinematography, while not bad, just wasn't up to par for De Palma, who is one of my favorite directors. The only things elevating it from total dreck are a couple of the suspense scenes (such as the scene with Cage and Sinise following the girl through the hotel), and Carla Gugino.

I would say most of it is quality but could've been improved. The ending is like a car wreck.

"It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."

Good until the stupid hurricane over the top ending.

This movie needs to be rediscovered.

I honestly expected this to be terrible and was surprised that it was actually quite fun to watch. It's a perfect example of the stylish, over-the-top 90's thriller genre.
