Why can't I get excited about watching this?

Kevin Spacey, Julianne Moore, Judi Dench and especially Cate Blanchett are all very good actors...I just don't want to see them all together for some reason. I can just imagine them all being very mild-mannered.

Maybe it's because the beach-side setting and sense of "quiet (generic) class" makes me think of that awful and really sappy/staid Message in a Bottle (1999)

But at any rate....what is the tone of this film?
