Maybe the mood wasn't quite right for me but did anyone else find Safe Men to be a poor cousin to Dumb & Dumber? It felt like a one-joke cliche: everyone is lame and awkward beyond belief, even the top crooks.
And maybe it's because I'm from Kenya but it seemed the Jewish charicatures were supposed to make it more funny. Why?
I think it would be Dumb & Dumber's smarter cousin with a more adult sense of humor. I love the characters, the subtlety and the overall tone of the movie. It had an absolutely fantastic soundtrack, a wonderful wardrobe and a stellar cast all around. Veal Chop is one of my all time favorite characters.
shareIt was more of an indie "Dumb and Dumber." Neither was particularly funny, but this one at least had some real imagination and wit – not the humorous kind of wit, but the clever kind.
shareThe only reason i kept thinking of dumb and dumber was Sam Rockwells character and mainly his hair style which was a dead spit of Jim Carrey in DnD.
